After a few offers of work in Mumbai we decided to stay in Goa, this is mainly because the offers consisted mainly of Water ballet and other silly things which are not part of our dance style! I think that is another thing lost in translation, I have the feeling that most of the Indian entertainment business think that all Westerns that can dance, can dance all forms of Western dancing…definitely not so!

But alas no love lost, as that means we will be in Goa for Lee's 19th birthday and my 21st! Think of beach parties till late, cocktails at sunset...and you might just see me somewhere there! The restaurant / bar where we will hold our birthday night (well technically it will be around a bonfire outside the bar) is next to the place we are staying. The other day they asked Lee and I to write down our names, and the information about what the event was for, two days later we saw guys walking up and down the beach distributing flyers (this is pretty common) for OUR “Beach Birthday Bash”! Wow, pretty awesome! Somebody had drawn a picture of a fire dancer and a belly dancer on the flyer too, organized I tell you!
Celebrating on the beach |
We decided to take a sunset boat on Lee's birthday because the party was on mine, and then we took another one on mine because we had enjoyed the first one so much! The boast cruise was really fun as both times we saw so many dolphins! In fact we decided to jump into the Arabian Sea and swim with the dolphins (only briefly stopping to think about the potential shark threat) The ‘captain’ of our boat thought we were pretty much insane when we turned to him and said can we swim here, all stripped down to our bikinis and jumped overboard! What was even funnier than that was trying to get 4 slippery girls back into the boat afterwards! While we were swimming we could see the dolphins not too far away from us, and while they never came close enough for us to touch them, they were definitely enjoying showing off all their tricks to us, as well as imitating a few of ours.
