Applying was the easy part...

I had to apply for a space in the troupe going to India, as the instructor, Beverly was based in the UK, this meant submitting (via youtube) a video of my dancing. I am not very tech savvy, but was very lucky to have someone in my life who is (Thank you Chris for all your help) I submitted my video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTyTtgIgUQg&feature=player_embedded ) to Beverly, then I had to sit and play the waiting game…hmmm.

After what felt like forever, I received an email notifying me that I had been accepted into the troupe and should start preparing to leave the country in Nov/Dec 2007. This meant I had to get a visa for…INDIA! I was so excited! All went well with the visa and it was pretty easy to obtain.

I booked my ticket for the end of December which meant I got to spend Christmas with my family, but was on a flight to India via Dubai 4 days later. I had never traveled out of South Africa before, and this would be a trip I would take alone, and meet up with my troupe on the other side. There was a girl, Lee flying around the same time as me, but unfortunately not on the same day. We got in contact none the less and started to pave the road of what has become a beautiful friendship.
Lee and I in our 2nd dance show in Mumbai
I had to drive 2 hours to Durban, fly to Johannesburg, then fly to Dubai (8 hours) with a layover, then the last leg was a two hour flight to Mumbai. To say my flight was uneventful just wouldn’t be true, for where there is an adventurer…adventure is sure to follow!

My ticket!!!
